For normal Vacuuming – Switch to position 1. When using with a Power Tool switch to position 2, the vacuum will start up a few seconds AFTER you switch On the power tool, and then will Run On for 8 seconds after you stop the Power Tool. Thus ensuring all the debri is collected.
